| Wine of the Month |
|
Now our long hot summer is over (!) we have selected a couple of interesting wines from the sunshine island of Mallorca for our October wines of the month. Produced by Macia Batle, predominantly from local grape varieties, the red is a gently spicy 2004 Crianza and the white a stunningly different off-dry wine, excellent with food. |

WINE OF THE MONTH
At long last we appear to have some sunshine in West Cornwall so we thought it was about time to enjoy a top notch Rosé.
Henri Bourgeois is one of the Loire's top winemakers and his 2006 Sancerre Rosé La Princesse lives up to his excellent standards. Best enjoyed with sunshine, it costs £14.95.
The Bourgeois family has been winemaking in Sancerre for ten generations from its estate located in the famous village of Chavignol, renowned for its wines and its goat cheese, the "Crottin de Chavignol". The family philosophy has been passed down through the generations and combines the best of tradition with the best of modernity. La Princesse Sancerre Rosé is made with 100% Pinot Noir and is an excellent summer drink, light and fruity.
As with last year we are featuring a variety of rosé wines again this summer, ranging from the ultra dry from Provence to rich and fruity wines from Chile. We are also currently awaiting the new vintage from Polgoon, Penzance’s very own award winning vineyard.
NEW WINES IN STOCK
We have a number of new wines in stock, as we follow our aim of providing as wide a variety of wines as we can within constraints of time and cost!
Amongst our recent additions are two wines from Australia, Simon Hackett’s Old Vines Grenache and his excellent single varietal Semillon; Sideral Altair, a superb Cabernet/Merlot/Syrah blend from Chile; Tabali Viognier, also from Chile; and, for lovers of good red Burgundy we have added Beaune Teurons from Chanson.
